Number 1: Painted out Trim

Painting all of your walls and trim in the same color eliminates contrast and makes a room feel larger, giving it a sense of full saturation.

Number 2: Tufting

Button-Tufting is a traditional look which has lasted through centuries, and for 2014 it will be popular for modern settings as well. A tufted leather sofa is a must-have investment piece for a look that speaks to luxury but is also practical. The material will hold up to wear and be easy to maintain.

Number 3: Sculptural Light Fixtures

Moving on from traditional chandeliers with crystals and metal frames, last year's multi-headed lamps have ushered in even bigger attention-seekers. Many jaw-dropping lighting looks make them read more like a piece of jewelry than a light. The new looks are sure to elicit more than a few gasps of delight.

Number 4: New Geometric

The next must have patterns are reinventions of the classic geo designs. These faceted patterns are brimming with energy and they're showing up on everything from accessories to wallpaper and fabrics for a big hit of futuristic style..

Number 5: Statement Walls

Building on the large-scale photography trend of recent years, the focus is now on filling our walls with painterly effects. Go big and bold with an abstract work or commission a romantic hand-painted mural for a unique, refreshing take on the feature wall.

Number 6: Round Bathtubs

Building on the popularity of vessel sinks, the round influence in the bathroom has reached epic proportions with stunningly simple bathtubs. Reminiscent of hand-thrown pottery, the round tubs tuck nicely into awkward corners or in bay windows and look especially dramatic in the middle of the room. Their organic forms instill a quiet sense of luxury that encourages long, lingering soaks.
